Leadership Dispatch – 08 March

Posted by: jess - Posted on:

Hello and welcome to our March 2022 edition of the South East Leadership Academy Dispatch.

While we are starting to see lighter evenings and less frosty mornings, we know the sustained pressures of one of the most difficult winters are not yet behind us and our offers to support you remain a priority. On our Leadership & Wellbeing offers and Looking after our people pages you will find lots of resources designed to help you and your teams through this time.

March often feels like a time of transition, heavy with year-end targets, appraisals, and financial deadlines, alongside the launch of yearly business goals for many. This can be a very powerful time for reflection as leaders, resetting and refocusing for the time ahead. This year the March transition falls alongside impending changes following the health and social care White Paper and we continue to support the new ways of working that the ICB and ICS formation will bring. This month sees our programme of Systems Learning into Practice come to life, as a set of deep dive action learning designed to apply our Leading Transition leadership support to your context.

We have attached our calendar of events through March and April 2022 and would like to draw your attention to the following in particular:

Support sessions for Frontline Workers Encountering Aggression and Antisocial behaviour – These are designed as safe spaces offering the opportunity to express current fears and frustrations, be heard, hear from colleagues going through similar issues and share practical thoughts and ideas.

Leading During Challenging Times – As the NHS continues to work through the extensive backlog, we are looking to face one of our most difficult periods to date. We are expecting to see increased pressures on staff, combined with higher levels of sickness and absence in the workforce.  We have curated this session to explore the leadership concepts and practices that will support us during this time, exploring compassionate and inclusive leadership cultural principles while aiding recovery in individuals and teams.

I, We, All – Join us and Coach-Speaker-Author Rasheed Ogunlaru for this inspiring and empowering leadership and equality, diversity and inclusion masterclass. This energising and interactive session invites you on a journey of appreciating our individual, interconnected and intersectional selves, teams, organisations and world. This unique session will take you on a journey through:

· I: embrace your unique gifts, identity and talent and responsibility

· We: appreciating the collective aspirations, need and goals and those of others’

· All: Raising our consciousness and compassion to evoke true transformation

Maximising your Impact, Confidence and GravitasWe are delighted to invite you to attend, a not to be missed virtual learning session with internationally renowned speaker Lee Warren. Lee Warren is an expert in behavioural persuasion and influential communication; he blends together psychology with his background as a performer to teach others the secrets to being an outstanding communicator. The session will: Provide you with practical approaches, techniques and tips to increase your personal impact, presence and gravitas, help you in how to get people to act on your ideas by connecting with them emotionally as well as rationally and share the secrets of being a great communicator, so when you speak people listen.

Leadership Espresso – Disability Inclusive Masterclasses
