Faculty event: Working with Agility and Restoration

Time to connect with peers and reflect on the psychology of how we responded to recent challenges and harnessed new opportunities across teams and organisations.

Introduction

In the last few months organisations and teams across the South East had to adapt their ways of working to the new challenges that Covid-19 has presented us with. This unprecedented time has seen many colleagues across the NHS working incredibly hard, stepping up to roles they never thought they were ready or able to do and performing these with great dedication, enthusiasm and kindness.

Here at the NHS Leadership Academy, all our leadership development programmes were put on hold. We are now looking to the future beyond Covid-19 and we are very excited to bring our faculty together, although virtually, for this CPD session.

Who is this event for?

This virtual CPD session is designed to provide current and active Coaches, Mentors, HLM and MBTI practitioners and ALS specialists with an opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences and learn new tools and approaches to support their current practice.

The masterclass will cover:

  • How do we model collaborative, inclusive leadership behaviour in the current context?
  • How do we create and sustain a climate of psychological safety in our virtual work?
  • How do we keep and embed a sense of connection amongst our colleagues when we’re working remotely?

The masterclass will be facilitated by Dr Jeanne Hardacre, Founding Director of Impact4, which is a specialist leadership, OD and culture change consultancy.

Listening to leaders in the South East: join the big conversation

We have launched an engagement initiative for the South East Leadership Academy, Listening to Leaders, now that we are a combined team we genuinely want to ensure the offer we create in the South East meets the needs of all of our leaders in the region.  Our intention is to start a multi-channel ‘Big Conversation’ with a range of leaders from across the South East over the coming months.

We are inviting leaders and emerging leaders from across all parts of the NHS as well as our colleagues and partners in hospices, care homes, social care and the voluntary sector, to join the big conversation and share their insights, challenges, successes and needs as leaders within the NHS and the wider care sector. Our aspiration is to synthesise a range of views which will feed into the South East Leadership Academy 21/22 business planning cycle – ensuring we act on what we hear from you.

We welcome all leaders in health and care into this session, so that we can hear from as many voices as possible. We are trying to reach a leadership audience as broad as possible for this group including patient leaders, community care leaders, allied health professionals and others from the wider health and care system.
