Underrepresented groups and mental health

Karol Kuczera, Psychotherapist, FRSA Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Staff Experience Programme Manager, NHSE/I ​and Dr Christine Rivers, Head of Workforce Disability Equality Standard discuss the stigma of mental health and how to create psychologically safe spaces for staff, with special focus on underrepresented groups, including LGBTQ+, BAME as well as disabled staff.

Karol Kuczera, Psychotherapist, FRSA Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Staff Experience Programme Manager, NHSE/I met with Jacob Bayliss, CEO of LGBT Switchboard, to discuss Switchboard’s history, results of the survey looking at the impact of COVID on the LGBTQ+ community and how to support population and staff mental health.

We met with Helen Jones, CEO of MindOut (mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer people, working to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities) to discuss the history of MindOut, their services, and how to engage better with LGBTQ+ matters in a workplace.

Young NHS workforce and mental health
