Welcome to our September edition of the Leadership Dispatch.

I was going to start with ‘Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’, but I think we are having a bit of an Indian summer thanks to the jet stream.  So, I will welcome back all of you who managed some time off over the summer, and hope you had a chance to spend quality time with the family and had a chance to recharge your batteries.

Holidays can be a chance to reflect and take stock, a time where we come back very motivated and inspired to stretch ourselves.  If this is you, then we have some interesting offers for you…

For those of you who are interested in System Theory Systems thinking, then have a look at the national online programme Foundations in System Leadership; collaborating for health and care

The North West Leadership academy has developed a systems behaviours framework which includes a set of indicators demonstrating the kinds of behaviours that enable, and obstruct, effective system leadership. Please click here if you would like to take the assessment.

Part of this toolkit also include some Systems Thinking cards that can be used as an Multi Disciplinary Teams for example to explore and reflect together how you are working together.

For those who are leading change at PCN or ‘place’ across the ICS there are the self-learning modules – System OD and Transformation Learning – on our Leadership Learning Zone. Sign up is free and you can learn new skills and approaches at your own pace.

We have also just launched our new series of masterclass focused on Anchor institutes. We commissioned a piece of research to explore the leadership qualities required to lead anchor institute work. If you are interested in finding out about what the research has to say, please look at the anchor institute programme here.

We are also working as a partnership with NHS England Southeast region, and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities Southeast, to facilitate a round-table event to support work focused on social and economic development and anchor institutions.
