Virtual Action Learning Set (VALS) Community of Practice Supervision
Our aim is to build a community of practice who work together to support each other, continue personal development in ALS facilitation and protect the quality of AL being experienced by health and social care staff.
As with coaching, facilitators work as individuals using their own skills, experience and presence as the catalyst for others’ learning. Group supervision gives us the opportunity to reflect on our experiences, learn from others and ask questions to ensure that we are developing the best AL facilitation practice.
The supervision sessions will be offered throughout the year and will work with a maximum group of 8 so that there can be full involvement of all. We ask those attending to prepare by reviewing their recent experiences or future opportunities in ALS facilitation and prepare a question that can be discussed with the supervisor and explored with the whole group. It may be around a particular session or a theme that is showing up as a pattern across a series of ALS.
It is a confidential, non-judgemental space where we all learn from the reflective practice about our different experiences.
