Leadership Espresso – Mindout: Understanding intersectionality and minority stress – 15th Nov – 10:00 – 11:30

About the session:

This 90-minute leadership espresso forms part of our inclusion series focusing on LGBTQ identities and mental health. The session will allow participants to gain insight and skills in assessing and addressing the needs of LGBTQ staff focusing on privilege, minority stress and impact of intersectionality.

You will be invited to share experiences and commit to an action to take back into your workplace to apply your learning in a tangible way.

SELA will retain a record of your name, job role, organisation, band, and contact details on its secure alumni register and contacts database for management information and communications purposes. Although we will be able to see your name and email address upon submission, this data will be anonymised from the EDI details. We appreciate your support in providing this information, which will help us to ensure our leadership development interventions are widely accessible and inclusive.

Your booking details (i.e. name, role, organisation, ICS) will be shared with the event provider and/or facilitator to allow them to understand participant thinking and adapt the event accordingly, in addition to other regional leadership academies (as required) and with the members of other relevant SELA networks to aid communication, sharing of good practice and support. Waiting List

When an event has reached capacity a waiting list will become available. The waiting list allows us to gauge interest in a programme and to fill any spaces that may become available due to cancellations. However, please note that by signing up to the waiting list this is not a confirmation of place, an email will be sent out advising you of a place with the necessary information if a cancellation does so occur.

About the Facilitator 

Alice Fox

Alice Fox (she/her) is a trainer with over 8 years of training experience in the field of HIV and LGBTQ issues, and has been training for MindOut for the last year. She is passionate about opening up dialogue and understanding between different communities and creating a better, more inclusive world. Aiming to deliver lively and interactive training both in person and online, she fosters a learning environment where people can be open and have their preconceptions challenged. She is particularly interested in educating about the needs and considerations for older LGBTQ people and for people living with HIV.
