Leadership Dispatch – 10 January
Hello and welcome to our January 2022 edition of the South East Leadership Academy Dispatch.
We do hope you all had time with families and friends over the Christmas break to rest, recoup and re-energise. Whilst we have, and will continue to experience significant operational pressure, demands of a safe winter and ongoing workforce pressures, it’s important to create space and time to reflect on the year just gone, to help see patterns and habits which helped us and therefore continue to do, as well as those patterns and habits that may not have helped us. As a team, we took some time to reflect in December and used the ‘Year Compass’ template for some guidance, and we wanted to share this with you all if some guidance would be helpful to you too.
We continue to offer programmes that are aimed at supporting you through this time, with packages aimed at focussing on your health and well-being and leading through the winter. We have a mix of offers presented in both accessible bitesize formats, as well as broader leadership development interventions. The East of England Leadership Academy have kindly opened up a number of their programmes for South East staff to attend which is why you will see them advertised via this dispatch.
Four offers in particular we want to highlight and hope will support you right now are:
- Coaching in a Crisis – these are focused 60-minute session/s supported by a qualified Coach from our Coaching Faculty or external provider to help you work through a specific issue or topic that you are dealing with to generate insights and new perspectives to help empower you and move forward in a positive way. - Developing a Coaching Culture Programme – this is a structured, bespoke, highly collaborative and interconnected series of sessions aimed at helping you nurture, mobilise, grow and sustain a Coaching Culture in your organisation. We’ve asked the facilitator to use their expertise in coaching and culture change to support and enable us, just like a really good coach would. So, there’s very little teaching indeed: for the most part, we are the content. . - Leadership Espresso: Virtual learning session, these are 60-120 minute group sessions, based on key leadership topics, which will be theory, practical and experiential based. They will provide a great opportunity to network with other leaders across the South East to discuss themes and topics, and to share your learnings and experiences.
- GMTS Applications for September 2022 – As many of you are aware, September saw our largest cohort of GMTS trainees starting in the SE region ever, and we are now turning our attention to the September 2022 cohort. Applications for organisations to host a trainee are now open with the closing date for the initial stage one application form being Tuesday 15th February 2022. We are hosting a number of information webinars to detail what GMTS is, what makes a great placement and the process involved and what we are looking for in the application form.
