DESCRIPTION:About the session: \nWe are pleased to let you know about a Coach Developmental Supervision Group\, led by Sylvia Benjamin. This offer is for 12 coaches who will form a Developmental Coach Supervision Group\, working together for 4 sessions over a year and will focus on reflective practice supervision & CPD. \nEach member needs to be able to attend all 4\, 2 ½ hours sessions as follows: \n18th July 9 – 11.30 \n10th October 9-11.30 \nSupervision plays a significant role in helping you build your knowledge\, increase self-awareness\, and improve your coaching practice. DESCRIPTION:About the session:\nThe focus is to create a safe and supportive environment that concentrates on participants’ learning. The format is characterised by active listening and thoughtful questioning. \nThe supervisor will use a variety of models to structure the discussion and apply simple rules of reflection so individuals can take stock of their own coaching practice\, explore their thoughts and feelings around their coaching\, and strengthen understanding and confidence. \nThere is an expectation that coaches will arrive at the supervision session read to share the issue they want to explore or address. My current role is Head of Learning and Organisational Development for Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT).  Having qualified as a coach in 2008\, I was a founder member of the coaching network in what was Kent\, Surrey\, and Sussex Strategic Health Authority and continue to coach across the region as part of the Southeast Regional Coaching Network. I completed the NHS Institute / Bath Consultancy Supervisor Programme in 2010 and have since been part of the team of coach supervisors offering individual and group supervision across the region.

SUMMARY:Systems Thinking Clinics
DESCRIPTION:Leading change effectively across complex systems is both an art and a science. It requires a mix of sensitive listening and (small p) political and leadership skills\, and a strong appreciation of how systems work: what makes them tick\, what changes their performance and behaviour\, and how to make logical sense of what you are seeing when you investigate and change them. \n  \nWe have commissioned a series of system working clinics for people who are leading or directly involved in change which extends across more than one organisational boundary. \n  \nThe clinics will be led by two highly experienced systems practitioners with a breadth of experience in understanding and improving systems\, and in developing critical system working skills in others. \n  \nThe clinics’ focus and topics will be shaped by the participants’ situations; the tutors will explore these with you\, and will bring to life relevant principles\, methods\, tools\, tactics and tips for: \n\nSetting up a system intervention;\nWorking productively with differing views;\nSifting ‘signal’ from ‘noise’ in the system\, and knowing what to pay attention to;\nOvercoming resistance – from the system and the people within it;\nMaking meaningful change happen;\nPredicting and preventing ‘unintended consequences’;\nGathering evidence and measuring performance;\nReaching agreement and moving forward as a system\, in collaboration with others.\n\n  \nThe clinics will be run along the lines of an action learning session.  As such they are limited to 6 participants. Each of the participants will have an opportunity to present their issue/ challenge /area of work and explore with the system experts new approaches\, solutions\, tips and advice about how to proceed to make their change programme work more effectively. All the participants in the clinic will benefit from exploring their own issues and also listening to the issues and dialogue about other system challenges. \n  \nPlease email  beth.hill@leadershipacademy.nhs.uk  if you would like to clarify any details about these clinics. \nPlease only book if you are confident that you can attend; we need all six participants for the clinic to be an effective learning environment. \nPrior to the session\, you will be asked to complete a short pre-course reflection to inform the content of the clinic. Jane also has a PhD in psychology from London university. \nWorking for over 25 years in the NHS and working across different NHS organisations has given Jane an understanding of the challenges staff have to manage. She has always found supporting staff to develop and face challenges very rewarding. She sees much of the value in coaching\, mentoring and supervision as giving an individual time and space to explore their topic in a structured\, safe and confidential environment.

DESCRIPTION:This masterclass is an Intermediate Level Workshop for Practices/PCNs and ICB Leads  delivered in partnership with  South East Primary Care Transformation Team and the South East Leadership Academy \nThe session will cover some practicalities and value around leaders embedding equality\, diversity and inclusion principles in the primary care context.
