SUMMARY:Understanding the Psychology of Now
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\n\n\n\nThe session focuses on the psychology of now and the impact of the current context on individuals. It emphasises the power of effective communication\, levels of listening and the importance of creating moments of connection during increased times of pressure\, workload and secondary stressors. \n\n\n\nAt the heart of this virtual session is a belief that individuals need to be supported and cared for – provided with time and space to reflect\, process and understand their current context so they are equipped to manage the challenges and pressures they face. Through having guided development time\, we increase our ability to support others and lead successfully within a continually changing context. This session will give you the opportunity to connect with peers\, share experiences and explore new tools and approaches to support yourself and your midwifery teams. \n\n\n\nWhat to expect in these sessions:\n\n\n\nThe sessions are participative and active. Rebekah uses breakout rooms\, interactive feedback tools (Menti.com) and group discussion. We would ask that you come prepared to have your camera’s on to support the interactive and people centred nature of the session. \n\n\n\nThe sessions are designed to be a warm\, relaxed and honest space\, for people to share their experiences and connect with colleagues. Much of the issues and challenges you may be facing with your teams and colleagues will be shared by others and we know that realising ‘you aren’t the only one’ often serves to offer comfort and strength. \n\n\n\nFor Rebekah\, the measure of how good any development session is\, comes down to – what you end up doing after the session is over. So\, these sessions are about practical application; what you do when you are back at your desk\, in your next meeting or with your team – where ever possible Rebekah will provide you with things you can use\, do or try. \n\n\n\nWho is this session for? \n\n\n\nThis session is aimed towards Midwifes who manage or oversee teams (Band 6 and above) \n\nBook your Place\n\n\n\nBook a place via our RSVP booking system below. You will receive the joining instructions for the event 1 week before the session. \n\n\n\nSELA will retain a record of your name\, job role\, organisation\, band\, and contact details on its secure alumni register and contacts database for management information and communications purposes. Although we will be able to see your name and email address upon submission\, this data will be anonymised from the EDI details. We appreciate your support in providing this information\, which will help us to ensure our leadership development interventions are widely accessible and inclusive. \n\n\n\nYour booking details (i.e. name\, role\, organisation\, ICS) will be shared with the event provider and/or facilitator to allow them to understand participant thinking and adapt the event accordingly\, in addition to other regional leadership academies (as required) and with the members of other relevant SELA networks to aid communication\, sharing of good practice and support. SUMMARY:Midwifery Leadership Development Series: Psychological Safety in Teams
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\n\n\n\nWhat is it and how do we know we have it? Psychological safety is a core component to effective teams. Research into effective\, high-performance teams has found overwhelming evidence that “If you change the nature and quality of the conversations in your team\, the quality of your outcomes increases exponentially. Psychological safety is the core component to unlock this”. \nWe would explore and provide the opportunity for individuals to measure the perceived and experienced ‘psychological safety’ they have in their team using the evidence based Psychological Safety Index (PSI) tool based on the research of Leading Harvard Professor Amy Edmondson. We recommend using the tool to provide a moment-in-time measure \n\n\n\nWhat to expect in these sessions:\n\n\n\nThe sessions are participative and active. \nWe appreciate your support in providing this information\, which will help us to ensure our leadership development interventions are widely accessible and inclusive. Please note that this is in line with information governance and data protection guidelines. \nPlease see our Privacy Policy here. \n\n\n\nShould you have any queries\, or if your circumstances change and you can no longer attend\, or you wish to opt out of the above arrangements\, please contact england.selll@nhs.net.

SUMMARY:Coaching Supervision with Rebecca Burden
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\nWe are pleased to invite you to register your interest to attend a Coaching Supervision Session\, led by Rebecca Burden.  \nCoaching supervision provides a safe\, supportive environment for you to reflect on your coaching\, share your successes\, discuss issues and questions that might emerge from your practice and consider areas of development to enable you to become masterful in the way you work with your clients. Supervision plays a significant role in helping you build your knowledge\, increase self-awareness\, and improve your coaching practice. \nThe approach I use allows you to critically reflect on your practice\, explore what worked well and what didn’t\, gain insight into your strengths and potential blind spots\, while harnessing the insight and resource of a group of 6-8 other coaches attending to support you. The format is characterised by active listening and thoughtful questioning. The use of simple rules of reflection will allow you and the rest of the group to take stock of your coaching\, explore your thoughts and feelings around your work\, and strengthen understanding and confidence. \nThe supervision will cover individual and whole group questions and topics. You will have the opportunity to explore individual issues or questions\, as well as themes shared by the group\, with attention around: \n\nanalysis of coach’s cases to explore possibilities for new interventions and coaching strategies\nreflection on the coach’s internal thought processes and assumptions\nrevealing blind spots\nexploring ethical issues and contracting challenges\ndeepening self-awareness\nbrainstorming solutions to complex and challenging coaching situations\nappreciating and celebrating the accomplishments of the coach\n\n\ndeveloping confidence and standards of competence\n\nWho is this session for?\nThis supervision session is open to all the South East Coaching Faculty.\n\nBook your Place:\nPlease register your place via the RSVP ticket tool below.
