SUMMARY:Working at Scale: Strategic Skills Programme for PCN Managers 2021: Session 5 of 6
DESCRIPTION:“This programme has stimulated and activated a lot of advice and learning\, helping me to reframe my skills and abilities in the context of my current role.” \nThis programme provides support and development for PCN (Primary Care Network) Managers with a focus on their personal skills of leadership and collaboration to ‘work at scale’.  It will consider the nature of the role and reflect on the rapid changes COVID has bought about to the way the PCN needs to work and move forward.  It is designed to equip PCN Managers with the tools\, skills\, strategies and networks to lead\, manage and influence change.  It will consider how PCNs and the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) will shape the way healthcare is delivered locally\, regionally and nationally\, and have a voice in the emerging Integrated Care Systems. \nThe purpose of the programme is for PCN Managers to have an opportunity to step away from their busy operational environment and spend time networking\, sharing best practice and working ‘on their local healthcare environment’ rather than ‘operationally in it’.  It is not about how to be a PCN manager\, rather how to develop the skills that will support you to be effective in the role and to enable you to connect with other PCN Managers to help build a regional support network. \nSpecifically\, the programme aims are to: \n\n\n\nProvide you with a robust learning environment to develop ideas\, strategies\, skills and tools to drive their Primary Care Networks forward\, as appropriate.\nGive you time and space away from the busy operation to help them shape\, plan build and deliver change across the South East Region\, and in your PCN.\nWork with others on common challenges within Primary Care\, (e.g. Resourcing) and develop ways of working in collaboration\, co-production\, and joined up thinking.\nDevelop and enhance leadership skills and strategic thinking\, and how to engage others in change.\nEnhance and develop your personal network of other PCN Managers as well as healthcare leaders and decision makers in Primary Care.\n\n\n\nFor more information about this programme\, please click here.

SUMMARY:Leading Innovation in Systems Programme: Community of Practice 1
DESCRIPTION:The Leadership Academy in partnership with Fischer Associates launched a new leadership action research programme that applies systems thinking to exploring why and how innovations get adopted and spread. \nThe programme will support system leaders across the South East Region in experiential learning\, working together on real time regional change in primary care.  The programme will last a minimum of 6 months and will focus on identifying how system change happens and how specific conditions for change can be created and recreated to support the scale and spread of other innovation.  As a leader on this programme\, you will contribute to developing a new approach to scale and spread of innovation to potentially be used across the South East region and will be expected to use this approach to a change programme in your own system. \nFor more information about this programme\, please click here.

SUMMARY:Developing a Coaching Culture Programme - Workshop 3 of 6
DESCRIPTION:Our series of initial workshops will aim to: \n\nEstablish an influential community with a shared objective of developing a culture of coaching across our region\, exploring together what this truly means.\nEngage a community who challenge and support each other’s thinking and practice through long-term relationships with mutual agreement of expectations and accountabilities.\nNurture\, mobilise\, grow and sustain a Coaching Culture throughout the region and beyond.\n\n\nWorkshop 1: Monday 28th March 13:00-17:00 – ‘Why and What’: Why might we want a coaching culture? What might it look like? What are the pros and cons?\nWorkshop 2: Friday 29th April 09:00-13:00–   ‘How and Who’: How we’ll create the culture we’re looking for\, in our own teams and organisations. Who we’ll need to help us and how we’ll get them on board.\nWorkshop 3: Monday 16th May 13:00-17:00 – ‘Where and When’: Where and when is this already happening? What green shoots are we seeing\, here and elsewhere\, and how can we nurture them?\nWorkshop 4: Monday 6th June 13:00-17:00 – ‘What next?’: Mapping and modelling the complex systems that enable and inhibit this culture we’re seeking. Setting ourselves up for success going forward.\nAction Learning Set – group 1 –  27th June \, 13:00- 17:00\nAction Learning Set – group 2 –4th July 13:00-17:00\n\nThis programme is open to all staff working in the South East who are true advocates of coaching and mentoring-type interactions\, and/or are effective and passionate developers of these skills whether this is something you do formally and consciously\, or instinctively day-to-day. This community is for the people who see the value in slowing down to speed up\, and can facilitate opportunities for others to do the same. This programme is not appropriate for qualified Coaches \nYou will be either employed by the NHS or working with an NHS funded employer delivering NHS funded care in clinical or non-clinical roles \nNB: This is not training programme per se and there will be no Coaching accreditation or qualification at the end. It is a structured\, bespoke\, highly collaborative and interconnected series of sessions aimed at helping you nurture\, mobilise\, grow and sustain a Coaching Culture in your organisation. The emphasis is on helping each other navigate the various enablers and inhibitors in our organisations. We’ve asked the facilitator to use their expertise in coaching and culture change to support and enable us\, just like a really good coach would. So\, there’s very little teaching indeed: for the most part\, we are the content. \nFor more information on this programme please visit the Developing a Coaching Culture Programme webpage. \nOur Commitment  \nWe are committed to making our training as accessible as possible (please see our accessibility page for what is currently available)\, we are aware that there is more that we can be doing.
