DESCRIPTION:Leading Transformation in 2021 Programme – A Programme for System Leaders\n\n\n\nTo support leaders to meet the specific challenges of leading transformation in 2021 the South East of England Leadership & Lifelong Learning Team are providing an online programme of solution focused bite sized learning sessions. \nThis Bitesize Programme will:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIntroduce you to big ideas that will provoke new thinking and unlock your motivation and creativity.\nEquip you with practical tools to apply new approaches and models straightaway.\nProvide access to a peer learning and support community to foster deeper self-directed exploration\, learning and development.\n\n\n\n\nEach of the five live online sessions will combine taught material and peer discussion groups. SUMMARY:Black History Month Event - Reflections of My Life
DESCRIPTION:About this session\nProfessor Dame Elizabeth Nneka Anionwu is an Emeritus Professor of Nursing at the University of West London.  In 1979 she set up the first ever UK sickle cell/thalassaemia nurse counselling service\, based in Brent.  She then became a senior lecturer in Community Genetic Counselling at the University College London’s Institute of Child Health.  Prior to retirement in 2007\, she was Dean of the School of Adult Nursing Studies & Professor of Nursing at University of West London (UWL) & also established the Mary Seacole Centre for Nursing Practice. \nElizabeth is co-author with Professor Karl Atkin (University of York) of The Politics of Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia (2001) published by Open University Press & author of A Short History of Mary Seacole: a resource for nurse & students (2005)\, RCN Publishing.  Her highly acclaimed memoirs Mixed Blessings from a Cambridge Union\, originally self-published in 2016\, are due to be republished in 2021 by Orion and entitled Dreams From My Mother. \nIn this lunch and learn session\, Dame Elizabeth Anionwu will reflect on her life working for NHS and shares from her memoirs ‘Reflections of my Mother’ \nBook your place:\nReserve a place via the National Event Page

DESCRIPTION:Applications by Friday\, 8th October 12:00pm \nWe would like to invite GP practices to express interest in a Collaborative Practice Programme that we are launching in the South East in October. The aim of this programme is to work in place to: \n\n\n\nImprove patient care\, particularly for people living with long term conditions or those who visit their GP frequently with social\, non-clinical problems;\nDevelop a new skill set for staff in general practices\, equipping them to work collaboratively with local people as partners;\nImprove morale and retention of staff at a time when primary care is facing a staffing crisis\nConsider the future sustainability of general practice by meeting non-clinical needs differently\, giving clinicians more time to do what they are trained to do;\nProvide wraparound support to social prescribing link workers and other roles in the practice/PCN and strengthen closer working with local voluntary and community groups.\n\n\n\nWe also aim to enable sharing learning and best practice across the South East practices taking part. Please ensure you have accessibility to this platform before booking your place.  \nAbout the Facilitators\nRuth Sangale\, Leadership Development and Executive Coach\nRuth has 20 years HR and OD experience in the public and private sector\, leaving the NHS in 2012 to specialise in Creative Leadership development and executive\ncoaching.  Before COVID she was working internationally coaching and running residential leadership programs for global organisations such as UNICEF\, PLAN International\nand charitable NGOs in a range of countries including\, Afghanistan\, Brazil\, India\, Kenya and Belize. In the UK she designs and delivers workshops mostly for the NHS on topics such as career development\, resilience and positive psychology\, feedback skills\, coaching skills for leaders and team development. Now she does this work virtually\, and is currently facilitating leadership programmes for UN Women in Ethiopia and coaching NHS staff during the pandemic. In her work she uses creative tools such as drama\, visualization\, drawing\, mindfulness and storytelling to stimulate creative thinking and develop leadership capability.
