SUMMARY:Talking Systems - Rethinking metrics in light of systems working and complexity
DESCRIPTION:About the session: \nThis will be an interactive session in which participants will be able to explore the challenges and opportunities of metrics-based evidence within a complex system. The session aims to unpick the predominance of metric-based research and evaluation paradigms and propose alternative approaches to data generation and the use of evidence in planning and decision-making. Inclusive and participatory methods will also be discussed as a means of understanding complexity and community needs. \nAbout the speaker: \nDr Maria Kordowicz FRSA is a Chartered Psychologist and Director of the Centre for Interprofessional Education and Learning and Associate Professor in Organisational Behaviour at the University of Nottingham Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences. Maria is the Director of Respeo.com\, providing research\, evaluation and training services to the public and charity sectors. Maria co-develops the mental health outcome measure PSYCHLOPS\, which has been used by the World Health Organisation and Médecins Sans Frontières. Maria has had an almost 20-year career in the health and social care sector\, holding several senior leadership positions and advisory roles in a range of settings\, most recently leading a large-scale research communications programme at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. \nEvent details \nWednesday 25th January 2023 between 14:00 – 15:00\nThe event will be hosted virtually. \nBook your place: \nTo book your place click here. \nFor further information please contact mark.cole@leadershipacademy.nhs.uk
