SUMMARY:Innovative Collaborative Practice Programme - Invitation to express interest
DESCRIPTION:Applications by Friday\, 8th October 12:00pm \nWe would like to invite GP practices to express interest in a Collaborative Practice Programme that we are launching in the South East in October. The aim of this programme is to work in place to: \n\n\n\nImprove patient care\, particularly for people living with long term conditions or those who visit their GP frequently with social\, non-clinical problems;\nDevelop a new skill set for staff in general practices\, equipping them to work collaboratively with local people as partners;\nImprove morale and retention of staff at a time when primary care is facing a staffing crisis\nConsider the future sustainability of general practice by meeting non-clinical needs differently\, giving clinicians more time to do what they are trained to do;\nProvide wraparound support to social prescribing link workers and other roles in the practice/PCN and strengthen closer working with local voluntary and community groups.\n\n\n\nWe also aim to enable sharing learning and best practice across the South East practices taking part. For more information\, click here. \nTo find out more about this innovative Collaborative Practice Programme\, including the recording from our introduction and QA session\, please email us at nhsi.selll@nhs.net \nWe are asking for expressions of interest by 12:00pm on Friday\, 8th October 2021 via the online portal here. \nIf you have further questions please contact nhsi.selll@nhs.net or browse some of the additional information about Altogether Better and the Collaborative Practice programme below: \n\n\n\nA good starting point to understand the work can be found if you click on the Altogether Better guide to Collaborative Practice  which contextualises and describes why this work is important to general practice and developing PCNs.\nIf you would rather hear it from someone else’s perspective go to a blog by the health writer and commentor Roy Lilley who visited one of the Collaborative Practices just before the pandemic began last year.  You can find Roy’s blog on the news page of the Altogether Better website\nIf you would like to hear it from the perspective of a practice look at this short film clip with Jane Dawes\, from the Blackmore Vale Partnership in Dorset who provides an insight into the difference this work has made to her and the practice. Finding the joy in work again\nFinally\, there is a lot of evidence on the Altogether Better website regarding the impact of the work\, do have a look to find out more: The evidence behind our work — Altogether Better. Most recently\, the work featured as an example of coproduction best practice in the BMJ Leader.\n\n\n\n  \nThank you

SUMMARY:Leading without Authority Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:About this Event\nLeading in primary care is a daily juggling act\, balancing the needs of your patient population with PCN-wide developments. Some aspects of your leadership require everyday organising and managing of colleagues and services you’re responsible for. Other aspects involve complex influencing across your local area\, engaging a wide range of people in a context where you don’t have formal authority. \nThis virtual workshop provides some protected ‘headspace’ and ‘thinking time’ for busy practice managers\, primary care practitioners and other key primary care colleagues to consider: \n\n\n\nWhat are the differences between leading in a hierarchical context and influencing across networks?\nWhich aspects of my work are best achieved through a conventional management approach and which aspects require a more networked approach to leadership?\nWhat are my key challenges in influencing beyond my sphere of authority?\nHow do I apply this learning to my everyday work as a leader in primary care?\n\n\n\nYou will be encouraged to consider thought-provoking ideas\, share views\, discuss issues with colleagues\, reflect on your own practice\, apply your learning to your own context and ask any questions you have. \nWho will Facilitate the Event?\nThe workshop will be facilitated by Dr Jeanne Hardacre\, Founding Director of Impact4Health\, which is a specialist leadership\, OD and culture change consultancy. \nAmong a wide range of NHS teams\, Jeanne is supporting several primary care practices\, PCNs and practice manager forums with their leadership in a virtual context \nWhen is the Event? \nBookings have now closed for the session on the 20th October 13:00-14:30. The next session date is on Tuesday 7th December 10:00 – 11:30 and to register for this session please click here
