SUMMARY:South East Regional Leadership\, OD and EDI Professionals Network – Talent
DESCRIPTION:Based on feedback we received from OD and EDI leads indicated a need and ask for a region-wide community to be created – allowing for those opportunities to connect within one another and help each other with leadership and workforce challenges\, sharing what is making an impact and speeding up scaling of great work. \nWe know that leadership and OD and EDI leads meet within an ICS footprint (although in some areas this is being refreshed due to a pause resulting from Covid) however the ask from colleagues is for a network that connects colleagues beyond their own ICS so that there is a larger potential community to learn from. \nThe inaugural event ran in July 2022 and provided time for individuals to start to create this forward thinking and transformational network with true connections and peer networking at the core. \nOur Next Meeting Theme is – Talent\nYou identified Talent as your second priority topic to explore as a network. \nYou have told us you most value time together to connect with colleagues in the network with that in mind we are creating a number of opportunities for conversations with colleagues within this session. \nConfirm Your Attendance\nPlease confirm your attendance via our RSVP booking system below for the South East Regional Leadership and OD Professionals Network Event on the 15th March 2023 – 12:00 – 14.00. You will receive the joining instructions for the event 1 week before the session. \nSELA will retain a record of your name\, job role\, organisation\, band\, and contact details on its secure alumni register and contacts database for management information and communications purposes. SUMMARY:Midwifery Leadership Development Series: Psychological Safety in Teams
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\n\n\n\nWhat is it and how do we know we have it? Psychological safety is a core component to effective teams. Research into effective\, high-performance teams has found overwhelming evidence that “If you change the nature and quality of the conversations in your team\, the quality of your outcomes increases exponentially. Psychological safety is the core component to unlock this”. \nWe would explore and provide the opportunity for individuals to measure the perceived and experienced ‘psychological safety’ they have in their team using the evidence based Psychological Safety Index (PSI) tool based on the research of Leading Harvard Professor Amy Edmondson. We recommend using the tool to provide a moment-in-time measure \n\n\n\nWhat to expect in these sessions:\n\n\n\nThe sessions are participative and active. Rebekah uses breakout rooms\, interactive feedback tools (Menti.com) and group discussion. We would ask that you come prepared to have your camera’s on to support the interactive and people centred nature of the session. \n\n\n\nThe sessions are designed to be a warm\, relaxed and honest space\, for people to share their experiences and connect with colleagues. SUMMARY:Midwifery Leadership Development: Understanding the Psychology of Now
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\n\n\n\nThe session focuses on the psychology of now and the impact of the current context on individuals. It emphasises the power of effective communication\, levels of listening and the importance of creating moments of connection during increased times of pressure\, workload and secondary stressors. \n\n\n\nAt the heart of this virtual session is a belief that individuals need to be supported and cared for – provided with time and space to reflect\, process and understand their current context so they are equipped to manage the challenges and pressures they face. Through having guided development time\, we increase our ability to support others and lead successfully within a continually changing context. This session will give you the opportunity to connect with peers\, share experiences and explore new tools and approaches to support yourself and your midwifery teams. \n\n\n\nWhat to expect in these sessions:\n\n\n\nThe sessions are participative and active. SUMMARY:Midwifery Development Session - Exploring workplace conflict and how mediation can help
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\n\n\n\nWorkplace conflict of any sort\, ranging from a process disagreement to personal conflict can be stressful\, time consuming and disruptive for those directly & indirectly involved. Responding to conflict when it arises and addressing the root cause at the earliest opportunity can reduce how wide reaching and entrenched the conflict becomes and help to limit the negative residual impact that can often ripple through a team. \nMediation is about working with the employees who are central to the conflict situation.  Helping them understand the key issues\, determine possible solutions and how to move forward beyond the conflict. \n\nChanging world of work – why this connected to conflict in the workplace\nWhat are the components & context of conflict?\nWhat is my role as manager in the conflict?\nHow to address conflict before mediation\nWorkplace mediator model (tools and skills) & conflict resolution model (tools and skills)\nUnderstanding starting positions in a team mediation\n\n\n\n\nWhat to expect in these sessions:\n\n\n\nThe sessions are participative and active. Much of the issues and challenges you may be facing with your teams and colleagues will be shared by others and we know that realising ‘you aren’t the only one’ often serves to offer comfort and strength. \n\n\n\nFor Rebekah\, the measure of how good any development session is\, comes down to – what you end up doing after the session is over. So\, these sessions are about practical application; what you do when you are back at your desk\, in your next meeting or with your team – where ever possible Rebekah will provide you with things you can use\, do or try. \n\n\n\nWho is this session for? \n\n\n\nThis session is aimed towards Midwifes who manage or oversee teams (Band 6 and above) \n\nBook your Place\n\n\n\nBook a place via our RSVP booking system below. You will receive the joining instructions for the event 1 week before the session. \n\n\n\nSELA will retain a record of your name\, job role\, organisation\, band\, and contact details on its secure alumni register and contacts database for management information and communications purposes.
