SUMMARY:Leadership Espresso – Exploring workplace conflict and how mediation can help
DESCRIPTION:Workplace conflict of any sort\, ranging from a process disagreement to personal conflict can be stressful\, time consuming and disruptive for those directly & indirectly involved. Responding to conflict when it arises and addressing the root cause at the earliest opportunity can reduce how wide reaching and entrenched the conflict becomes and help to limit the negative residual impact that can often ripple through a team. \nMediation is about working with the employees who are central to the conflict situation.  Helping them understand the key issues\, determine possible solutions and how to move forward beyond the conflict. \nThis espresso learning session will give you an interesting and meaningful guide through critical elements of conflict\, why it exists and what we can do about it when it arises in our workplace. It will be a combination of shared experience\, useful model and practical tips & language to use after the session.  The content is aimed at conflict in the workplace\, its impacts on individuals and the wider team\, why it exists and how mediation skills can be utilised to minimise and reduce the frequency of situations arising. SUMMARY:Leadership Espresso - Leading for an Inclusive Culture - Workshop Two:  Leading Inclusively and Appreciatively
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Two: Leading Inclusively and Appreciatively\n\n\n\nWe will build on the theme of understanding\, to focus on communication and messaging and to be an active catalyst for an inclusive culture. We will explore how to recognise micro-aggressions\, how to generate agency\, supportiveness and allyship in others and how to be an active bystander through interventions. Developing the courage to lean into difficult situations\, developing the skills for adaptive styles of communication and messaging are all themes of this workshop. \n\n\n\nWhether it’s about your colleagues\, patients\, service-users or carers\, you’ll learn\, as inclusive leaders\, how you can lead by example and develop a culture of appreciation for diversity and the challenges of also working in a virtual world. \n\n\n\nEach workshop will last for 3.5 hours\, with breaks\, and we will use a variety of models and break-out techniques for you to explore challenges and barriers and develop a personal plan. John originally trained as a General Nurse\, with experience as a senior nurse in Theatres adn Intensive Care and as a Mental Health Nurse and with subsequent international sales and marketing roles in medical technology companies.
