SUMMARY:Virtual Group Supervision for Coaches with Will Jackson
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\nSupervision plays a significant role in helping you build your knowledge\, increase self-awareness\, and improve your coaching practice.  The approach allows you to critically reflect on your practice\, explore what worked well and what did not\, gain insight into your strengths and potential blind spots\, while harnessing the resourcefulness within a group of 6-8 attendees to support you. The focus is to create a safe and supportive environment that concentrates on participants’ learning.  The format is characterised by active listening and thoughtful questioning. We apply simple rules of reflection so individuals can take stock of their coaching\, explore their thoughts and feelings around their work\, and strengthen understanding and confidence. \n\nThe supervision will cover individual and whole group questions and topics. He has extensively supported directors and senior managers across sectors\, from the NHS\, national and local government departments\, the College of Police\, Microsoft\, to charities and social enterprises. Will holds an Advanced Professional Practice supervision qualification from Oxford Brookes University and is an NLP Master Practitioner. He is an accredited consultant with the National College for Teaching and Leadership and delivered programmes for Manchester University’s Centre for Educational Leadership to local government and education leaders to build strategic leadership capability. Will also has an MBA from Manchester Business School. \nCoaching across different NHS organisations has given Will an in-depth understanding of the challenges and pressures staff in a highly pressured\, changing landscape. From 2009 he worked with the learning and development team at South London Healthcare Trust to develop internal coaches\, and subsequently provided group and individual supervision. Will brings a collaborative approach to supervision\, aiming to build greater awareness and capability through positive support\, clear feedback\, and challenge. \n

SUMMARY:Express Coaching
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\nThis will explore Express Coaching from the perspective of the coach:  building an understanding of how to be impactful as a coach in a time-limited\, outcome-focused coaching session. \nCalibrating your practice to supporting a coachee in potentially one standalone session can be challenging.  Overcoming some of the potential barriers\, natural preference and indeed bias to practicing in longer-term coaching relationships will be key. We will explore the practicalities of contracting effectively to build rapport and trust quickly and then practice in an agile way along the spectrum of coaching to best meet the needs of the coachee. \nThe session will build upon your current knowledge and experience whilst revisiting coaching models\, tools and techniques to build confidence in your practice in a short-term coaching relationship. You can expect a highly interactive session with plenty of opportunities to practice your coaching skills. \nThis workshop will: \n\nAllow coaches to develop skills to create psychological safety and build trust quickly with their coachee \nProvide participants with access to coaching models available to help coach in a swift but person-centred & agile approach\nSupport coaches to confidently contract\, undertake goal setting and manage the relationship within the boundaries of the coaching contract within a single session\, or contract for up to 3 sessions\nProvide coaches with the opportunity to experience\, and practice delivering an express coaching session \n\nWho is this session for?\nThis coaching CPD is intended to support the skillset of coaches currently operating in the South East NHS offering a framework to help support clients and organisations. She has extensively supported directors and senior managers across all health sectors in the NHS. Jane also has a PhD in psychology from London university. \nWorking for over 25 years in the NHS and working across different NHS organisations has given Jane an understanding of the challenges staff have to manage. She has always found supporting staff to develop and face challenges very rewarding. She sees much of the value in coaching\, mentoring and supervision as giving an individual time and space to explore their topic in a structured\, safe and confidential environment. \n
