SUMMARY:Coaching CPD: Career Coaching
DESCRIPTION:About the session:\n\nCareer coaching helps you focus on your current situation\, think about what you want from your future and then make a plan to get there \nGood career coaching focuses on empowering people at work to take more charge of their career and life.  Coaching clients seek out career coaching for a variety of reasons some anticipated or desired and some imposed or unexpected.  This can include change at work or elsewhere in their lives.  They are very often in transition\, unsettled and dissatisfied and coaching can be extremely useful in helping them to sort out their thoughts and ideas\, as well as in taking a realistic look at their options.  Career coaching often requires a holistic approach as capability\, values\, reputation\, life-stage\, health\, finances\, relationships\, lifestyle and location all impact on career choices\, motivations and options. \nGiven the scope of career coaching this workshop is designed as an introduction.  It is intended for coaches who are being asked to provide career coaching sessions or conversation\, either virtually or in person.  The workshop will be led by Emma Fulton and Lorna Wellsteed.  Lorna is an experienced professional coach who has undertaken many hours of career coaching for clients in all parts of the NHS.  The format will be interactive with a chance to put some approaches into practice as well as exploring some resources and tools.  There will also be an opportunity to share experience and top tips and to raise questions and concerns. \nIn order to get the most from the workshop\, there will be some pre-work.  \n\nWho is this session for?\nThis virtual event is for our South East Coaching Faculty Only\nBook your Place:\nBOOKINGS HAVE NOW CLOSED FOR THIS SESSION. The joining instructions\, including the meeting room link\, will be sent one week prior to the session. If your circumstances change and you can no longer attend\, please email nhsi.selll@nhs.net \nThe session will be virtually on Microsoft Teams \nAbout the Facilitators\nLorna Wellsteed\, Director of Wellsteed Associates\nLorna Wellsteed is an experienced and credentialed executive coach. Every coaching contract is unique to the individual client and reflects a strong belief in coaching as a developmental alliance between the coach and client. Lorna takes a systemic approach to her coaching. The focus invariably concerns a client’s key relationships. It is an understanding of the complexity and interdependence of those relationships that can provide useful insights into how to bring about change. The coaching process is about supporting the client through change\, looking at patterns of thinking and behaviour\, in the context of effectiveness as a business leader. The coaching takes place in a climate that promotes the client’s thinking.
