SUMMARY:Effective Mentoring Training: Developing potential within others
DESCRIPTION:About Effective Mentoring Training\nMentoring supports an individual or team’s learning\, development and performance. It is a successful developmental technique for organisations to use to support individuals to reach their full potential by offering them access to regular and contracted support from another person at work. The training will focus on the skills\, knowledge\, tools and techniques to mentor effectively in practice within the NHS. \nWho is this programme for?\nSupporting participants to become a ’formal mentor’ offering contracted mentoring to South East NHS staff. The material and practical exercises cover the following areas in order to build confidence in mentoring others within the workplace. \nObjectives of Training Day;  \n\n– Understanding what mentoring is (and what it is not)\n– Understanding the context for mentoring and explore the role and responsibilities of the mentor\n– Developing your own mentoring skills\n– Using process\, logs and paperwork to help bring focus to our mentoring\n– Using tools and techniques to creatively support and mentor\n– To practice mentoring skills and techniques in a range of circumstances\n– To explore how to use mentoring in practice to support and develop individuals.\n\nAbout the CPD Session: \nThis will be a reflective CPD session with the opportunity to bring cases and explore application of learning in practice. The material and practical exercises cover the following areas in order to build confidence in mentoring others within the workplace. \nExpectations \nTo be accepted onto this programme\, it is essential that applicants can make both training days: \nTraining (Day 1) – Tuesday 17 May 2022 – 9:00 am – 4:30 pm \nCPD (Day 2) – Thursday 29th September 2022 – 9:00am – 12pm \nParticipants who attend this programme are expected to join the South East Leadership Academy Coaching and Mentoring Register\, to offer their services as a Mentor to South East NHS staff. We focus on individual’s potential to achieve by focusing on their strengths\, understanding interference\, raising awareness to recognise issues and to take responsibility for actions. We work with your people and your organisation using a diagnostic approach to enable organisations to develop their own approach with ownership of activity and practice. We have a track record of delivering these particular programmes to great success across a range of different sectors and organisations. \n

DESCRIPTION:About the session:\nThe session focuses on the psychology of now and the impact of the current context on individuals. It emphasises the power of effective communication\, levels of listening and the importance of creating moments of connection during increased times of pressure\, workload and secondary stressors. We explore the potential impact on self-confidence\, decision making and team dynamics / behaviours with support on how to rebuild or sustain healthy team cultures through period of sustained pressure and adversity. At the heart of this virtual session is a belief that individuals need to be supported and cared for – provided with time and space to reflect\, process and understand their current context so they are equipped to manage the challenges and pressures they face. Through having guided development time\, we increase our ability to support others and lead successfully within a continually changing context. With her team of practitioners Rebekah provides a range of learning opportunities that hone and harness the skills\, expertise and abilities of people to meet the situations and challenges they face at work. \nRebekah started her career in Primary Care and now works exclusively with the NHS. She currently delivers a range of bespoke interventions across GP Practices\, PCNs\, CCGs/ICS and secondary care. Rebekah is at the forefront of the provision of leadership\, culture and team development for clinicians and managers and believes that understanding the context\, culture and impact of now is vital l in supporting people to get through the challenge of now. All her work is grounded in the science of psychology but she focuses on how to apply that knowledge and learning in a practical and lived way.

SUMMARY:South East Regional OD Network – Listening & Engagement event
DESCRIPTION:Within the region acknowledge we have a community of Leadership\, OD and EDI practitioners who have also been supporting their organisations to meet the current and future challenges within the Health and Care system.  We hold a curiosity around where is the space convened for you as professionals to come together\, connect on a personal and professional level\, to explore\, share and learn together.  As a regional academy we would like to create that space. \nWith that in mind\, we invite you to join us for a discussion to create a regional professional network for Leadership\, OD and EDI practitioners within Health and Social Care – a starting point in co-designing a regular gathering of like-minded and similarly driven individuals who collectively can mutually support and move forwards together. \nOver the coming months we will host a number of Engagement and Listening sessions which are open to you and your EDI colleagues to join\, find out a bit more about our aspirations for a regional network and share your thoughts and ideas on how this network could add value and make a difference to you professionally within your role. \nYou are booking onto the Listening and Engagement event on the 17th May – 12.30 – 1.30pm.
