NHS Staff only – Making an application to the Graduate Management Training Scheme

Posted by: Ellie Ward - Posted on:

Are you a current in-service NHS staff member ready to take a step towards becoming a future NHS leader and to receive the training and support you need to reach your goal?

If your answer is yes, then you should consider applying to the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme. The scheme is not just for new graduates, over twenty percent of new trainees who started the scheme in September 2019 came from NHS organisations.
On the scheme you will benefit from mentoring support, first class training from some of the most brilliant minds in and outside of the NHS and the opportunity to gain a fully-funded postgraduate qualification.

Your training and study will enable you to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to equip you to change processes, inform big decisions, make vital savings and improve lives. Ultimately, this scheme can lead you to senior board level roles in the NHS.

We offer six specialisms: General Management, Finance, Human Resources, Health Analysis, Health Informatics and Policy and Strategy Management. You will be with us for either 2 years, or 2.5 years if you choose Finance.
As current NHS employees, you will benefit from protected terms that are in your existing contract. This means we will protect staff salaries (up to a certain band level), annual leave and your pension terms.

Like all applicants, NHS in-service staff can choose up to three preferred areas to complete the scheme. However, we recognise that some colleagues have long established ties to certain areas due to their NHS careers and we will consider these.

To find out more about the scheme you can visit our website or join one of our dedicated live webinars that are specifically for NHS staff.

The live events will be held on:
21st October – 11:30 -12:30
